FROM THE CLUSTER INITIATIVE TO SOPOT TOURIST CLUSTER - SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Cluster initiative of Sopot includes joint actions for the most effective use of the tourist potential of Sopot. To achieve this cooperation of private and public sector is essential. Therefore, we are glad that in Sopot we managed to build partnership between local business, educational and research units and representatives of administration of local government.

The cluster initiative means conscious and grassroots organizing of efforts to support innovation and to improve competitiveness of companies in the cluster, within Sopot Tourist Cluster working meetings are arranged once a month. There are also planned abroad travels and other forms of experiences and ideas exchange. During the meetings joint solutions are hammered out to benefit all participants who belong to Sopot Tourist Cluster.

Project of value 501 567,32 PLN was prepared and is being realized jointly by City Hall of Sopot – project leader and Sopot Tourist Association – project partner. As one of few projects from Pomerania district it has received funding from the European Regional Development Fund within the Regional Operational Programme for Pomerania District for years 2007-2013.

Sopot Calendar of Events is one of the products created as a result of undertaken cooperation of entities from tourism sector of Sopot within the project: ,,From the cluster initiative to Sopot Tourist Cluster-  support and development program”.
